Community

The physicians and staff of South Denver Cardiology support the mission of the American Heart Association: To reduce the risk of death and disability from heart disease. We provide financial support by being a corporate sponsor of the American Heart Association. We provide time by providing board level support and physician leadership to such American Heart Association activities as the Annual Heart Ball and Heart Walk.

In addition, our physicians and staff are active in mentoring and educating the public and other health professionals as they enter our discipline. Many of our physicians are Associate and Assistant Professors of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, providing ā€œbedsideā€ examples of quality care.

Our Centerā€™s Goal

Our centerā€™s goal is to be a beacon to the community for education and prevention activities. Health fairs and awareness programs lead our list of offerings, designed to increase knowledge and empower the individual to their maximum state of cardiovascular wellness.

A large part of the core culture of South Denver Cardiology Associates is a belief in the importance of getting out and being an active participant in the communities where we live and work.

We are an active member of the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce and the American Heart Association. Brenda Lambert, our CEO, received the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerceā€™s Women in Leadership Award, Business Leader award in 2012.

Our ongoing class schedule is free or has a minimal cost and open to anyone to attend. Each of these classes is an opportunity to continue our outreach and nurture the lasting connections we have built with the community. The South Denver Heart Foundation was created to ensure the long-term impact in the community. Learn more on the foundation page.

Another part of our community outreach efforts are educational programs for our healthcare partners. For example, we have recently offered seminars about new drugs for the physician assistants in our referring practices and heart failure training for hospitalist doctors at partner hospitals.
